‘A portrait of a life through belongings’ 2022

A portrait of a life through belonging is a of series of cyanotype prints made up of a collection of belongings that my brother owned. My family and I have held onto each item as if it were a part of him. The twenty-one cyanotype print’s, one for each year of life, are life size ranging from a wristwatch to a motorcycle. The work acts as an archive, preserving and igniting memories of a life lived. These projects act as a meeting point to bring people together in a creative space to consider the experience of grief. I have seen the value that sharing this work has had on people who have struggled with loss and I am interested in continuing to connect communities with the artwork serving as a meeting point for people to engage in an open conversation about loss.
